Bio

Annie Fajardo (b 1989) is an artist based in Monterrey Mexico. Her work invites people into a space of the dualities of life, often painting pairs, tall hats and long fingers. She embodies a folk-inspired tone with elements of mysticism, nature, and the beauty that is her surroundings and culture.
From a young age, Annie knew she was adopted. She often struggled to feel a sense of authentic belonging but always finding art to be her sense of calm. Her birth mother was an artist - a fact that would become a guide and driving force through out her life. Growing up in New York City, She would later attended School of Visual Arts, where she refined her practice as a painter.
It wasn’t until the meeting of their birth mother did it reaffirm that she was on the right path in her creativity as a painter. Witnessing her family's heritage and artistic expressions she knew she was in the right place. Raised in one world and discovering she belonged to another, her art lives at the intersection of both bringing forth the unique and sacred world within her.
